Gail M. Carter

I have a passion for serving others and making our world a better place. Over the years, this passion led me to stretch myself and participate in philanthropic projects in the Caribbean and South and Central America which included evangelism and Vacation Bible School, teaching English to youth and young adults as a certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language ( TEFL), and installation of renewable energy (solar) systems in rural areas in countries to provide clean and affordable energy.

I have been recognized for leadership and volunteerism having received the Junior League of Greater Princeton’s “Woman to Watch Award”, the “People’s Choice Award” and have been featured in Courageous Woman Magazine. I have been a contributing writer for WE Magazine for Women. I authored seven published books. My goal in life is to always shine my light and be a positive role model for others.

My global experiences have allowed me to grow in the areas of empathy, adaptability, creativity, and flexibility. I realized that I cannot simply project my expectations on others, and I must first seek to understand. I understand the need for a participatory approach to capacity building which involves listening to others, empathy, appreciating others, and thinking strategically. I know these attributes will help as part of this HOPE project.
